The apology is missing every single thing that needed to be in it — no acknowledgment of the Northeast Project issues, no admission of the specific historical distortions, no actual accountability, no concrete plan to prevent it happening again. I fact-checked their defense in GPT AND Gemini — both said it was nonsense, which is honestly hilarious. The director saying 'the writer LOVES Joseon' as an excuse is the most insulting thing I've heard in years. If you actually loved the period and researched it, you'd have written about the real tension — a modern rational society colliding with the medieval relic of a royal institution, the structural contradictions, the genuine anguish of characters caught between worlds. Instead we got this.

The Joseon royal family is not a fantasy — if you write a story where it just continues into the present, that IS modern-day Joseon. I have no idea why that suddenly becomes fantasy romance. If you wanted actual fantasy, you should have invented a completely fictional kingdom — 'the Kingdom of Mumyong' or whatever. The moment you inherit the Joseon royal line, the whole thing is permanently non-fantasy. UGH this is so frustrating... people acting like historical inaccuracy is the only problem. We're talking about Northeast Project territory here.

Being pro-Japan New Right OR pro-China Northeast Project on their own would already make you a history-distorting traitor, and this drama managed to do BOTH at the same time. I'm genuinely questioning why these people hold Korean citizenship. Pull every episode, issue a full apology from writer, director, and cast — every last one of them — and burn it all down.

This whole 'the actors are innocent, I alone am responsible' act is just... The way they're practically begging 'please don't hate on the cast' — it reads so strange. These are people who were on set, who praised the script publicly, who went on and on in interviews about how much they loved it. Now the production is working overtime to help them escape accountability.

The fact that writer, director, and cast are all reciting the exact same script now is almost funny. Sure, one mistake — fine, maybe you move on. But it's been wrong from episode one, wrong, wrong, wrong — so I just checked out and watched on brain-off mode or stopped watching entirely. And then it stays wrong all the way to the end, and some of it isn't even careless — it's *carefully constructed* to take Japan's and China's side against our own history. That's why we're here.
